We were contacted by Maxim journalist, Andrew Couts, during the documentary filming of our role in the expedition to reposess, recover and deliver the real JAWS boat 'Cricket II' to Montauk, NY. Cutting a long, strange story short, we were ultimately successful in doing so, but not after an odyssey lasting nearly an entire year. This interview was intended as a much longer piece, but as editors often do, they chopped it down to what ended up being a much simpler travel and shark fishing 'how-to' segment that we provided technical information for; most of which, ended up to be fairly accurate.

During this interview, we were living on board the Cricket II and were docked at Liberty Landing Marina in Jersey City, just across the Hudson from Manhattan and the rest of New York City. We limped in a few weeks earlier with an engine fire, after motoring nearly 500 nautical miles from North Carolina. We were just about an 8 hour float from our final destination in Montauk. Repairs and other delays lasted nearly a month, during which time, we made the most of it, taking meetings with production and distribution companies, making repairs to the boat, doing interview like this one and having a hellaciously good time, overall. We've been stuck in worse places, for sure. Here's a link to the article: Maxim Magazine August 2007
