It's
taken over 12 months of massive effort and sacrifice to get us here
for the on-location production and shooting of featured episodes
for the series in Montauk, New
York. And when you're involved in an operation like this, it's sometimes
easy to forget what's gone into getting this far. That is, until
someone asks the question, 'How did this all come about'? Since
not a day goes by that someone doesn't ask that question we're going
to set the record straight. It all goes back to a 'to-do list' for
2005 that I put together in December of '04. Sitting on a beach
in Florida, I penned a simple item among many others that read,
'Meet Frank Mundus (a hero since childhood) & produce a documentary
about him.' My brothers and I had already been working on a separate
outdoor adventure and wildlife television series at the time, but
it soon became apparent combining our stories with Frank's would
provide a uniquely combustible element when added to an already
kick-ass concept. Be careful what you ask for because strangely
enough, in March of 2005, we not only met
Frank, but formed a unique friendship with him. And after many months
of creating and writing the series, we presented it to Frank &
his wife Jenny in the early fall of 2006. And after some collaboration
with them on their part of the story, we moved forward with development,
production (everything you see here has also been filmed), and ultimately
the negotiation of major distribution for the series; something
we're getting closer to every day.
